The Salvation Army Christmas program is a total community effort. While Salvation Army officers serve endless hours during the holiday season, it is through the continued efforts of metro Tulsans that the assistance to needy people becomes a reality. During this season Salvation Army musicians play traditional Christmas music with their brass sounds.

What projects are available to holiday mall shoppers?

  • The Angel Tree Program, located at Woodland Hills and Eastland Malls is sponsored by Channel 6 KOTV, K-95 FM and Simon Properties.
  • Other Mall projects to be annouced later.

These projects open mid-November and close on December 24. Each project enables holiday shoppers to select from Christmas tags indicating the needs of a child, disabled adult or senior citizen and shoppers may then purchase needed gifts for their adoptions. Shoppers, who participate in these projects, agree to purchase at least $25 worth of Christmas gifts for each person adopted. Unwrapped gifts are returned to the mall booth and The Salvation Army distributes them at the Christmas Center.

What are other special project opportunities?

  • The Tulsa World Neediest Family Campaign enables readers of the Tulsa World to contribute cash donations to help families with catastrophic needs.
  • Oklahoma's News Channel 8 presents The Salvation Army Toy Drive, sponsored by Bank of Oklahoma enables holiday shoppers to donate a new, unwrapped toy and drop it off at any BOK location in the metro-Tulsa area. These toys will become part of The Salvation Army Toy Shop inventory and will be given to area needy children — infants through 12 years of age. It begins mid-November and concludes December 24.
  • Canned food drives by schools, groups and area companies. Click here for details on this program.

During the holiday season, area companies, groups and individuals also contact us with opportunities for other special events.
