The Salvation Army is most visible during the holiday season when the familiar ringing bells at the bright red kettles begin to appear throughout the community. The extensive Christmas assistance program to needy individuals and families is made possible through donations placed into the kettles, contributions received through the mail and gifts-in-kind donations from area companies and individuals.
Also, there are groups and individuals who participate in special projects located in area malls such as Angel Tree located in area Simon malls. Additionally, the KTUL Christmas Toy Drive, various canned food drives and other special projects assist The Salvation Army in meeting the large volume of holiday requests.
