The Salvation Army Missing Persons Bureau's primary purpose is to reunite people with families to restore family relationships. This assistance program places notices in The Salvation Army national publication, The War Cry and corresponds with Salvation Army commands throughout the world. Officials also network national linkages with other appropriate persons/groups. Except in unusual circumstances, The Salvation Army will NOT search for a missing person under the following conditions:

  • Individuals seeking friends
  • Adopted children seeking their natural parent(s)
  • Parents seeking children formerly placed for adoption
  • Missing minors, runaway minors; i.e., under 18 years of age
  • Searches requested by minors
  • Children born out of wedlock seeking their natural parents
  • Parent(s) seeking their children
  • Cases involving custody disputes or 'familial kidnappings'
  • Genealogical searches
Program Hours: Mon. – Fri., 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Fees: $25.00
Eligibility: Anyone who has lost contact with an adult relative

1-800-315-7690 for missing persons in the Eastern United States
1-800-698-7728 for missing persons in the Western United States

Length of Search: This depends upon how long ago the inquirer saw the missing person and the amount of information the inquirer has on the missing person.
